Travel With Ysabel: New York (Day 2)

I find travelling a hassle when it’s raining especially if you’re commuting in a big city like New York! I didn’t know my dad had his pedometer recording the number of steps we took the whole day (in which it rained about 80% of the time) and it calculated that my family and I walked 21 kilometres. O.o Really crazy but good exercise! The beauty of New York was a good distraction tho.

My family and I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is considered as one of the world’s largest and finest art museums. Works by famous artists such as Andre Derain, Claude Monet, Johannes Vermeer and Vincent Van Gogh were displayed. What’s amazing about art is that there’s history behind it which makes it very interesting.IMG_0140 IMG_0147 IMG_0149

New York street food is a bit pricey but worth it! Here I am munching on my beef kebab. IMG_0153 IMG_0156

My family and I especially enjoyed the Ancient Egypt portion of the museum. We weren’t able to go around much anymore since we lacked time and were exhausted from all the walking. Hopefully in our next trip back here, we get to see their newly-opened wing which was the costume institute!

We passed Central Park and I can’t believe Vanessa Hudgens was there too at the same time! I can’t believe I was so close to meeting her hehe

Stay tuned for my next post – I’ll be sharing about how we went around New York without having to walk lotsa blocks!
